Banso Baptist Hospital PDF Print E-mail

In January 2007 Fuller Baptist Church received a letter from the Chaplaincy and Social Service Department at Banso Baptist Hospital (BBH), N.W.Province, CAMEROON, W.Africa. (view a map of Cameroon)

The letter outlined the difficulties faced by the hospital in caring for destitute people.

The Cameroon Baptist Convention hospitals aim to provide "exemplary health care to all in need as an expression of Christian love" - this is their mission statement - but they do this with little or no government support. It is a financially impossible situation except to those "who expect great things from God".

Fuller has responded with continuing financial support to the Chaplaincy team at BBH and to the Beryl Thyer Trust which finances a treatment program for children with Burkitt's lymphoma at the Baptist hospitals www.berylthyertrust.com.

Our LiveWires young persons group raised over £2,100 in 2011 to support the programme - Thanks to Cathy and the other leaders and for the young people for their efforts in raising this money!
