The Centurymen In Concert
As part of their first UK tour, The CenturyMen, one of the leading male voice choirs in the United States, presented a concert at Fuller Baptist Church, Gold Street, Kettering on Wednesday 9th July. the standing ovation at the conclusion of the concert was an indication of the audience's appreciation of the high standards set and demonstrated by the choir.
The 75 member choir is an auditioned men’s chorus of professional musicians who are choir masters in Baptist Churches from almost every state in the United States of America.
Concert repertoire includes the classics of church music literature, Black Gospel, Southern Gospel, Contemporary Christian Music and English and Welsh Hymnody such as Amazing Grace.
The Conductor of the CenturyMen, Buryl Red is described by the Washington Post as “uncommonly creative”. The musical work of Mr. Red as conductor, composer, producer and arranger may be experienced in such diverse venues as Saturday Night Live, Carnegie Hall and thousands of churches, schools and theatres around the world.
Public Performances by the CenturyMen include extensive touring in the United States and throughout the world, previous tours having taken them to The People’s Republic of China, Russia, Poland, The Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Switzerland, Israel, Turkey and Brazil.
